Linebacker Hall Out 4-6 Weeks With Wrist Injury
From Virginia Tech Athletic DepartmentOctober 7, 2007
Virginia Tech starting linebacker and leading tackler Vince Hall will undergo surgery for a broken left wrist Sunday evening at Montgomery Regional Hospital and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth.
Hall broke the wrist in Saturday's game at Clemson, where he finished with a team-leading 11 tackles. The surgery will be performed at Montgomery Regional Hospital, where a plate will be inserted to help stabilize the wrist.
Hall is fourth in the ACC in tackles per game and has 61 total this year. He has started the last 44 games and was approaching the school record for consecutive starts.
No decision has been made on his replacement in the starting lineup has been announced.

Actually as of today (Tuesday 9th) the Virginian Pilot states that depending what the team surgeon says he might play as soon as the Duke game on the 13th
Posted by Blake | October 9, 2007 4:20 PMWell, considering that I was at today's press conference and talked to Coach Beamer myself, there is absolutely no way Vince is playing this weekend. He had a plate inserted into his arm to stabilize multiple broken bones. Hall is good, but he's not superhuman. Kyle's blog says he may play against Boston College, which is not this weekend (Tech plays Duke) or next week (bye week). The BC game is on the 25th, nearly three weeks after the injury. That is a much more optimistic and reasonable time frame. Sorry to disappoint you, but the only number 9 you'll see on the field this weekend will be Thaddeus Lewis.
