With approximately 200 hundred people in attendance, “For the Bible Tells Me So” played for the second time at the Lyric. The showing, hosted by the LGBT, Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Caucus at Virginia Tech, took place Sunday, March 22, and irregularly populated the first and second level seating.
Catharina Morris, a freshman from Virginia Tech, said, “My parents always were bias and I never knew much about [homosexuals], but I found it very interesting and enjoyed the film.”
The movie took a look at five different families that were all religiously affiliated but shared a commonality that they had homosexual children.
Although the documentary began with identifying the church as a downfall to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community it took the time to elaborate on ways that the church can improve their relations with homosexuals.
The movie took time to identify scriptures that Christians use against homosexuals and sought to disprove the context in which people use them. The movie analyzed the different situations the families and even used a cartoon to illustrate how homosexuals are the same as heterosexuals.
Throughout the documentary, audience members laughed frequently. Even though the movie dealt with serious issues, humor played a major part in drawing the audience members together.
In addition, the movie ended with a message asking the church to love everyone as God commands and to stop the hatred.
Lane Hollandsworth, a resident of Blacksburg, came to the showing because she was visiting a friend who told her about the movie. Hollandsworth said, “I came in open minded …hopefully it will have an impact on others [who are not as open minded].”

Well, I love Bible. I enjoy the blief in thepro Bible. We had thought it is impossible for others to refer to LGBT when they talked about Bible. That is most of my honest bisexual friend met at http://www.bimingle.com who are also christians. It's great to have such a discussion. I would like to hear it clear soon with the firm belief in my hearts
