Opinion: War on Terror Focused On The Wrong Trash

Wednesday, Osama trashbin Laden posted a message on al-Qaida’s media Web site denouncing the republication of political cartoons he thinks insult the Prophet Muhammad. The audio message played along with a still image of trashbin Laden aiming an assault rifle — too bad the extremist geezer and his lackeys only use real weapons in news releases, opting for cowardly tactics such as improvised explosive devices on the real battlefield.

Last month, Danish newspapers republished a cartoon that caused uproar in the Muslim community in 2006, one that shows Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban. February’s rerun came as Danish journalists showed their commitment to freedom of speech after police uncovered a terrorist plot to kill the cartoon’s artist.

Perhaps  trashbin Laden would be happier if the cartoons depicted him hiding in a cave, wimpy and scared, hoping coalition forces do not stumble upon him. He’d better hope there are plenty of witnesses around if an American finds him first, or he may find himself (hi)jacked up.

The delusional terrorist said in the message that men have had conflicts for years, but that intelligent people “have been keen to observe the etiquettes of dispute and morals of fighting.” Really? Etiquettes of dispute? You mean like using women and children to blow up other innocent civilians? You mean ignoring the Geneva Conventions? You mean using IEDs to cowardly take lives and limbs from American soldiers who must abide by rules of engagement?

“You, in your conflicts with us,” trashbin Laden continued, “have abandoned many of the morals of fighting in practice…”

Morals? How about hijacking planes and killing thousands of innocent people during the events of Sept. 11? Let’s face it, Dialysis Dodderer — Islamic extremists have no morals. We’re not even sure you have a brain. And we know you have no chutzpah (yeah, that’s Jewish, deal with it).

Mr. Cranky Turban even says that the publishing of insulting cartoons is a greater tragedy than the killing of his people (vermin, etc.). Obviously, free speech is a threat to someone who has outdated, extremist, violent beliefs because it exposes them for what they really are — warmongering cowards who are certainly no better than the administrations they criticize. Jesus has been parodied plenty of times on “South Park” and other outlets, but you don’t see radical Christians threatening to blow anyone up over it (unless abortion clinics count).

The point is, extremism in any form is wrong and ridiculous. But no one is more ludicrous than trash bin Laden. He chides King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in his recent message, calling him the “crownless king.” See, Osama is still upset the Saudis allied with the U.S., and that they value freedom of expression.

It is indeed a shame that Dubya has led us in the wrong direction, fueling the hatred of Muslim extremists by poking America’s nose where it didn’t belong in Iraq — all under false premises. As Bush moves out and a new administration moves in, it is imperative America’s resources are not focused on playing referee amid people who fail to put aside their differences to better their own countries.

Instead, we must get back to the mission — bring Osama trashbin Laden to justice for his part in Sept. 11. The best way to kill a snake is to cut off its head, and Lanky Lowlife Laden is one nasty head to the slithering serpentine body of Al Qaida. We won’t have peace by creating more preemptive conflicts. We won’t have peace until we’ve made an example of the vilest villain of our time.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with Christian views, Muslim views or any other views, there is no doubt that, throughout history, there have been those who terrorized others under the name of legitimate religions. There is no difference between the travesties committed throughout the years by the Roman Catholic Church and the radical Islamic suicide bomber of today. But there is also no difference between a loving Christian and his peaceful Muslim friend who is not a jihadist — we must all share our world and work together to make it a better place. Proselytizing does not have to involve bloodshed.  Until we can live in a world where we share opinions instead of demand compliance with them, there will never be an end to our struggles.
