Pirates Stun Hokies 27-22 in Charlotte, The East Carolina Pirates pulled off a dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, winning 27-22. The Pirates took the lead with 1:52 left to play after senior T.J. Lee blocked a Hokie punt and returned it for a score. “They took it to us,” Tech coach Frank Beamer said after the game. “It hurts to lose on a blocked kick at the end, that’s not very good.” Commentary: Time To Shine - Glennon A Good Fit For 2008 Hokies The decision has been made. Frank Beamer announced at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday that Sean Glennon would take the reigns as the Hokies' full-time signal caller while Tyrod Taylor would put the redshirt back on. To say the reaction from Hokie Nation was mixed would be an understatement. Not only can the Tech faithful not agree on how they feel about the news, they could not be further apart on the spectrum. Team America: The True Olympic Champions Mid to late August is a time for hibernation in terms of watching sports. I can watch the Padres vs. the Giants in mid season? Boring. NFL preseason? Yes, I can watch the highlight players for 15 minutes, and none of it counts, fantastic. In all honesty, watching sports in August is just unexciting. However, every four years, the summer Olympics comes and saves us from the dull summer events, and this year was no exception. The Olympics in Beijing was one of the most exciting Olympics in recent memory. From the depth defying opening ceremony, to Michael Phelp's unbelievable dominance, to achieving our old glory is basketball, the Olympics were a sight to see. Despite the tape delays, moment after moment was exciting TV, and for Americans, it was an Olympic games to remember, because of the teams. PBTV: Student Move-In

Blown Coverage: Picking the Top 25 – Week 1 Last college football season was one of the most exciting in recent memory, as it seemed like every team made an appearance in the top five of the polls. A lot has changed since last year; Rich Rodriguez and West Virginia are now seeing other people, Georgia Tech has decided that it is no longer interested in attempting forward passes, opting for a triple option based offense and the once feared Hawaii offense and coaching staff have lost so many weapons, you might as well declare Honolulu a demilitarized zone. A lot will be the same, however, as Ohio State will be back in the BCS, Southern California will once again be the only reason to watch PAC-10 football and Texas Tech will be able to score at will.
