Of the million holidays Hallmark acknowledges every year, there is one that ranks supreme.
Christmas is the greatest holiday ever. When else can you say yuletide greetings without sounding like a complete creep?
Christmas is the one holiday that lets women do their thing without being chastised for it. Yes ladies, Christmas time is the most acceptable time of the year to get your shop on.
With extended store hours and deals that make you think you might be stealing, it is the Super Bowl of spending. The best part about this is the lack of guilt sometimes associated with spending exuberant amounts of cash. Have no fear; you are being generous by supplying people with gifts. Can you say win-win?
Everyone loves music. How about a holiday with its own specific genre devoted entirely to its cause. When else can
As Jack Frost begins to play a key role in weather, no one over the age of 18 appreciates snow. Snow becomes more of a hassle without the prospect of school getting closed.
However when Christmas comes around, snow becomes the most desirable form of precipitation. Everyone, come December, is dreaming of a white Christmas. Nobody ever dreams of a white Fourth of July or a white Easter.
Christmas parties are the highlight of the season. When everyone fills his or her Christmas goblets with something I like to call, Christmas spirit, it's just a wonderful combination of fun. Christmas parties are like a theme party without having to say there's a theme.
Everyone is either classically dressed in red or green or outfitted with a Santa hat. During Christmas time people get a little creative and also enjoy throwing tacky Christmas sweater parties. This is great. You have a party that doesn't require you picking out an outfit in order to attend. They already tell you what to wear and it's quite warm and comfortable.
Christmas is synonymous with one famous character known as Santa Claus. Christmas is the only time when someone like Santa would be a great guy. Think about it. A fat, old, bearded man breaks into your house, plays with your children and then drinks all your milk and consumes your baked goods. There is no other time that this man would be considered wonderful.
Christmas brings about many seasonal things that should be around all year because they are that amazing. Let's start with eggnog. Eggnog is delicious and quite versatile. You can add a little Christmas spirit in the form of spiced rum to make eggnog into a delicious adult beverage.
Secondly, Gingerbread houses are a delicious form of decoration that is only displayed come Christmas. Not only can one summon the Martha Stewart inside to create a masterpiece, but you can eat your supplies!
Finally, red and green simultaneously worn together are off limits unless it's Christmas. The color combination red and green are inexcusable acts of fashion deviance 98 percent of the year. However, come Christmas red and green become the most desirable color schemes available to the human wardrobe.
The best part about Christmas by far is family. Christmas is a time to celebrate your loved ones and cherish the people that are important in your life. So raise your yuletide flask and have a merry, merry, merry Christmas.
