Learn to Live Green at Green Living Expo

It's time again for the annual Green Living and Energy Expo in Roanoke.
“If we are going to achieve long term livability on the planet we all need to get up off our rusty- dustys and do our part,” says musician and environmental enthusiast Joyce Rouse. By combining her activism with song writing, Rouse’s performance goal is to help heal the planet one song at a time. Her performance will serve as one of the headliners for this year's event.
Nov. 6 to 7, Roanoke Civic Center will showcase the 10th Annual Green Living and Energy Expo, hosting live music performances, workshops, exhibits, seminars, demonstrations and a silent auction.
The Expo opens Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission is free.
Every year the Green Living and Energy Expo offers area residents the chance to learn about new technology and to see exhibits “To Provide, Promote and Advocate Conservation”.
Director of The Association of Energy Conservation Professionals (AECP), Billy Weizenfeld, began managing the event 10 years ago as an idea to educate the general public about the importance and value of saving energy. “The growth of the event has accurately reflected the growth in awareness and technology relating to energy and green issues,” said Weizenfeld.
The Expo is primarily an educational event open to kids and adults alike. The event started ten years ago at Virginia Tech Squires Student Center with 13 exhibits. In 2008, the Expo hosted more than 90 exhibits and 2,500 people attended. It is now the regions largest exhibition of energy saving products and experts.
It is Mark McClain’s sixth year exhibiting at the Green Living and Energy Expo. His presentation on Cool Cities, “Cool Green Biz” program, is getting businesses involved in lowering their emissions and going green. McClain is the director of Roanoke Valley Cool Cities Coalition, which is the areas leading non-profit group involved in energy policy and global warming. McClain is passionate about educating the public and returns to AECP’s Expo showing businesses that the Cool Green Biz program can give them a competitive edge, help them save money and attract environmentally conscious customers.
Exhibitors McClain and Rouse are just two of the experts who will share their environmental experience. Today’s current Green Movement has environmentally activated a once apathetic public on several impacting issues. The Green Living and Energy Expo is a great way to learn more and save some money on your next energy bill!

This covers all the bases = saves you money, helps the environment, helps your health, makes you feel better, it's so easy to do and it costs less than $50.00; Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time! Add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off†Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won't even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! Don’t worry, you can still leave some out for guests and can even make it the soft stuff without feeling guilty. It's cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You'll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. As for water use a drought is always a concern and must be dealt with prudently but remember the water use of industrial users far exceeds the water use of household users and in the case of toilet paper manufacture it is huge. The pollution and significant power use from that manufacturing process also contributes to global warming so switching to a hand bidet sprayer and lowering your toilet paper use is very green in multiple ways.
