Staff Writers and Reporters Wanted!

Hope everyone had a fantastic summer! As the semester approaches, Planet Blacksburg is looking for talented writers and reporters. Specifically, we're looking for dedicated students to join our staff and produce content for our site! Interested in working with us? As a writer or reporter for Planet Blacksburg you'll be expected to:

• Attend events and write articles about them. We're looking for writers who can produce at least one article a week and reporters who can be on the field to cover events and write about them.
• Brainstorm ideas with your editors on what stories to write or what events to cover.
• Come up with innovative ways to promote the organization and your own published works.
• Collaborate with other members of the organization to cover events and produce content.
• Attend weekly meetings which will be held on Mondays at 6 p.m. The location is to be determined.

So what do you get in return?

• We provide a platform (the website) in which you can publish your articles.
• We promote your content through various outlets like Twitter and Facebook so that you gain more exposure to the community and potential employers.
• You get your very own press pass.
• You cover sporting events, on the field or in the press box.
• You will be able to create an online portfolio page that can be shown to potential employers.
