Hokie Postseason Ends In 84-66 Loss To Baylor (Video Included) Lined up across the front row of the student section at Virginia Tech's Cassell Coliseum stood a group of orange-masked fans in a sort of homage to the dance crew, the JabbaWockeeZ. By the end of the 84-66 drubbing the Hokies received at the hands of the Baylor Bears, those fans were probably glad they hid their faces. "Our inability to make a shot early really affected our ability to defend," said Tech coach Seth Greenberg. "We just stopped checking people and the basket got really big for them and they physically overpowered us up front. We got down on ourselves. I feel really bad because the crowd was great. After the game, they walked out of Cassell Coliseum with a loss to a soon-to-be number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. Hokies Outpace Jackets In 76-71 Win (Video Included) Like so many games in the ACC this year, the matchup between Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech took the entire 40 minutes to decide. Despite never trailing and leading by as many as 10 points, the Hokies needed key stops and late free throws to dispatch the Yellow Jackets 76-71 in Cassell Coliseum. "I told the guys this was a man's game," Hokies coach Seth Greenberg said. Hokies Fall Short in Comeback Against Duke (Video Included)
After trailing by double-digits for most of the first half, the Hokies rallied in the second half to eventually tie-up the Blue Devils 58-58 on an A.D. Vassallo three-pointer with 5:59 left in the game. Unfortunately for the Hokies, that was as close as they would get to the Blue Devils. Hokies Top Wolfpack For First Time Since 2005 (Video Included) This game wasn't a rivalry game, considering North Carolina State has dominated the series. Rather, this was a statement game for the Hokies, as they needed this victory to rebound in the conference and have a better shot at getting an invite to the dance. Tech did just that, overcoming an 18-point, second half deficit to force overtime and win 91-87.
